An evolving Frock friday

Dress: opshopped Leona Edminston

Happy belated Frock friday! I'm currently on teaching practicum at the moment so the practicality of wearing a dress to work with infants has been a little off.
So instead I have taken to changing from jeans and a t-shirt into a dress when I get home ,and/or wearing them on the weekend.

Some lovely peonies from a friends garden.

Thursday

Ruffles and lace! Oh My!

No make up here! Just sharing my recent find, a 1960s swing nightie.
I love it!, Its all powder pink ruffles and lace.
Does anyone know about or get perms to maintain their vintage look?
Have they come along from the poodle look where you can get the above desired look.

I find having dead straight hair and a narrow face do not mix well for me and if I could get permenant voloume/curl around my face I would be a very happy girl indeed.

Monday

Chic Love!

I'm looking forward to beginning my bag and then the peg bag, there are some great gift ideas as well.
Baby blanket appliques, knitting needle rolls and gorgeous soft toys.

I'm super excited about my new purchase! Its Cath Kidston's new book Sew. Its got some great additional treasures included such as the fabric and the pattern to construct the featured bag on the cover.
There are 40 different projects with all their patterns supplied, and step by step instructions on how to master even the most basic of sewing techniques.

Sunday

I knew a little girl with a little curl

My hair style for today, the clip is made of two crochet medallion's topped with the red bow.

I've had a lovely and full on weekend and it seems to be this way building up to christmas.
Saturday involved overseeing a fund raising garage sale I had organised for our creche, I managed to secure a lovely white can trunk to hold all my sewing supplies ( I will post some images during the week)

Today hubby darling and I drove up top Auckland to meet with his mother and Auntie at a Quilting exhibit. Though quilting isnt really my thing I enjoyed the wide array of crafting items and fabrics along with some potential book purchases.
I also missed my frock friday post due to an essay due that day so will make it up to you during the week.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Friday

Oh Glee! Jayma / Emma's wardrobe envy

Bows seem to be a reacurring theme

The layering of these necklaces is a great detail.

Bows, Bows glorious Bows

Glee the comedy musical began screening here in New Zealand tonight, it contains my love for music and dance but I was rather taken with the character Emma Pillsbury ( Jayma May) monochromatic styled outfits.

Sunday

I put a spell on you.....

Get your spook on!

I enjoyed some spooky cocktails

I hope you all had a great Halloween! I love a good excuse to dress up and this years Halloween was teamed with a birthday bash to add to the excitiement.

Friday

Frock friday

I love this little sailor dress! Its a Laura Ashley and I purchased it from the lovely Andrea from a cat of impossible colour. I did a few alterations as I didnt suit the bell sleeves, so I removed those and brought up the hem and made a sash from the remaining fabric.

Freshly trimmed bangs, I finally found some instructions on how to get a nice thick fringe.
